5 Protective Hairstyles
Protective hairstyles are designed to keep the ends of your hair protected from rubbing, splitting and the wiles of the elements, which can damage your hair and cause it to break. If your hair is protected from damage and breakage then you will retain your hair. Protective hairstyles won't make your hair grow but because they are protecting the ends of your hair, you will have greater hair retention. Greater hair retention means longer hair.
Five protective hairstyles are
1. Buns
2. Chignons
3. Phony Pony Tails
4. Wigs
5. Sew In Weaves

5 Low Manipulation Hairstyles
Low manipulation hairstyles are styles that keep you from having to comb your hair too often. These convenient styles can be worn, for several days, with little to no manipulation, which can give your hair a break from harsh heat styling, combing and brushing. Low manipulation styles help in retaining length and will lead to stronger, thicker hair that will allow you to accomplish your hair growth goals.
Five styles are
1. Roller or Straw sets
2. Twist or braid outs
3. Wash n Go
4. Mo-hawks or Fro-hawks
5. Flat twists

Preparing Your Hair for Bedtime
One major part of my healthy hair care journey regimen is preparing my hair for bed at night. Preparing my hair at night for bed helps my hair retain moisture and wards off hair breakage. My hair is super moisturized in the morning and I tell you I’ve shaved at least 5 minutes off my morning routine because I don’t have to spend as much time doing my hair.
Preparing your hair for bed is simply moisturizing, sealing and covering your hair before you go to bed. It’s an essential step in growing long black hair. You should really make preparing your hair for bed a part of your hair care regimen. Click on the link to read how to prepare your hair for bedtime.

Welcome
Welcome to My Long Black Hair Blog, I wanted to start this blog to allow women of African decent a space to show off their long black hair. Many black women don't realize that their hair, whether natural or relaxed, can grow to its predestined length by God. I am on a new hair journey and in process of growing my hair out. I'm 1 year and 4 months natural and I can't wait to see how long my hair will grow. Looking at pictures of other black women's long and growing hair really encourages me. And I know that your pictures will encourage other women to grow their hair long.
On this blog, I will be giving updates on my hair journey, giving tip and techniques to grow longer hair, and displaying women who send me their pics.
Thanks for viewing my blog!!!
